It is always nice to see a show that encourages intellectual engagement. Food Wars is a great anime, especially since it focuses on different types of food art. : Shokugeki no Soma. Food Wars, a genre-based shounen, is an excellent example of shounen. However, it also features a lot more exotic cuisine and foodgasm from the characters.
Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma is a gratuitous source of fan service. However, outside of these erogenous scenes the series is rich with food and its main selling point. Food Wars is all about quality with an incredible amount of details, from the setting to the sound. Food Wars is not perfect, but it’s very entertaining.

Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma is an ecchi shounen anime series directed by Yoshitomo Yonetani and produced by studio J.C. Staff. The anime is an adaptation of a manga series written by Yuuto Tsukuda and drawn by Shun Saeki.
Synopsis Soma Yukihira is a chef at Yukihira. His father runs the family restaurant. He dreams of becoming a chef and taking over the restaurant, as he strives to exceed his father’s culinary skills. His father eventually leaves the restaurant to work abroad. Soma’s father calls him to inform him that he will be enrolling in Japan’s top Culinary School. Soma quickly discovers that this school is not your average culinary school. The school has a graduation rate below 1%. Failure will result in instant expulsion.
